Reluctantly Toma joins Stiyl to rescue Aisa Himegami, a girl who is code-named "Deep Blood," because her blood attracts and kills vampires. Toma has been tricked by an alchemist, Aureolus Izzard, to help save a special person's life, and is unaware that he plans to make that person a vampire. Toma and the others learn that it was Index who was kidnapped. Enraged that Toma had already saved her, Aureolus attacks her, Aisa, and Stiyl. Toma must use his Image Breaker and wits to save them and Index.
